This book was released on 2016-07-11 with total page 100 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A nameless young man lives in the housing projects outside of Paris. When he was a child, his parents moved with him from the Congo to France, hoping in vain to escape poverty and violence. His best friend, Drissa, is in a psychiatric hospital and now Mireille, his girlfriend, the woman with whom he has shared his childhood and hopes, has left him to reconnect with her Jewish roots in Israel. During a night out to drown the pain of his heartache, there is a fight with a policeman, the policeman dies, and the young man is arrested and taken to jail. Between police beatings and abrupt interrogations, his memory becomes his sole ally to escape from the exiguous space in which he is confined. Half-conscious and delirious, he reflects on his journey from the land of his ancestors to his life in the projects with Drissa and Mireille. In The Heart of the Leopard Children, N’Sondé explores the themes of love and pain, belonging and uprooting, desire and fear—all with an implacable and irresistible accuracy. Wilfried N’Sondé’s first novel awakens the reader with an urban symphony of desire and lost love, attuned to the violence that accompanies the struggle for social ascension and a sense of belonging, and the paralyzing sentiment of betrayal that inhabits a young man caught between traditions and cultures. Awarded the Prix des Cinq Continents de la Francophonie and the Prix Senghor for the originality of his work, the author captures the sounds, rhythms and pleas of a young man who pulls on the alarm from his prison cell to warn against the multiple barriers of confinement that risk the future of certain sectors of French youth today.

It expresses short stories from my childhood in the form of prayers. It is a dialog between me and God. You could say, I tell him everything! Yes, the good and the bad. Even though, I’ve never heard him say one word. His blood, grace, and spirit spoke volumes on my behalf. His manifestation in my life is proof enough that he heard me and continues to hear my prayers. I am a witness that God cares and answers prayers! I have many testimonies! Therefore, I say to you never think that your prayer is too odd, short, long, bothersome, or that it doesn’t matter, because it does. Please know you don’t have to pray according to anyone’s approval. In fact, you can go to God anytime of the day or night in your own way and believe that he hears and rewards those who earnestly seek him with a favorable yes, no, or wait. I am grateful that he is my Heavenly Father and he believes in me! In the absence of my biological father, he has been there for me all the days of my life. Yes, I make mistakes too, but thanks to my Savior Jesus Christ, He’s always there to help me overcome! Prayers of A Child’s Heart, also encourages children to tap into their God-given abilities and talents! Please know, it’s easy for other people to shoot down your ideas, but don’t you ever do that. You can turn your ideas and dreams into inventions and possibilities when you believe in the power of prayer. In First Thessalonians 5:17 it says, “Pray continually!” Not that we should always be on our knees or calling upon God with bowed heads; but it show our God that we acknowledge him. Prayer is a benefit for us; it blesses our lives in every good or bad situation. Prayer moves God on our behalf and it moves us forward in every good work. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. Remember, believe that God hears you when you pray and always aspire to let your little light shine! May God bless you is my prayer! ?

It can be unsettling, uncomfortable, edgy...' - from the Introduction Who has the right to 'do' theology? Only academics? Only adults? Or do we all have a voice in the kingdom of God? Through the Eyes of a Child considers 14 key theological themes from one of the most neglected of perspectives - that of children. Honouring Jesus' command to place the child at the centre, theologians, psychologists and educationalists take us from our comfort zone to look afresh at some of the most grave, difficult and beautiful topics in Christian theology. Challenging conventional readings of theology, this landmark work will fascinate and challenge anyone who cares about children and their place in the world and the church.

Book excerpt: The purpose of this collection is to bring together representative examples of the most recent work that is taking an understanding of children and childhood in new directions. The two key overarching themes are diversity: social, economic, geographical, and cultural; and agency: the need to see children in industrial England as participants - even protagonists - in the process of historical change, not simply as passive recipients or victims. Contributors address such crucial subjects as the varied experience of work; poverty and apprenticeship; institutional care; the political voice of children; child sexual abuse; and children and education. This volume, therefore, includes some of the best, innovative work on the history of children and childhood currently being written by both younger and established scholars.
